After graduating from FTII in editing and beginning his career as a film editor, a bad experience forced him to shift to ad films, where he created several successful commercials. He made his professional editing debut with Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Mission Kashmir (2000).

Lage Raho Munna Bhai
Rajkumar Hirani wrote, edited, and directed the 2006 Indian Hindi-language satirical comedy drama film Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which he co-wrote with Abhijat Joshi and produced with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It is the sequel to the 2003 film Munna Bhai: M.B.B.S., starring Sanjay Dutt as Munna Bhai, a Mumbai underworld don.

Accused of sexual assault
The HuffPost India report on the industry’s biggest director, Rajkumar Hirani, being accused of sexual assault triggered Bollywood’s biggest #MeToo scandal on Sunday afternoon.
The complainant is a woman who worked on the post-production crew for the Sanjay Dutt biopic between March and September of last year. The allegations surfaced after the survivor detailed her abuse in an email to Sanju co-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra in November. Mr. Hirani has already hired advocate Anand Desai to respond to the allegations.
I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my attention about two months ago, Mr.Hirani said in an official public statement. I immediately suggested that this matter be brought before any committee or legal body.
Instead, the complainant has chosen to go to the media. I’d like to state unequivocally that this is a malicious story being spread with the sole intent of destroying my reputation.
